Curtis W "Curt" Kovach grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Edwin Danby High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Wayne State University and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and is a retired metallurgical engineer. He married "the girl next door" Fran Czak and he has two children, Jenifer E. Sproule and Kathleen L. Weyand. He came to First Baptist Church in 1960 and has served in many roles over the years but his most memorable are his membership in the choir and leading the Junior High School group. His interests include music, piano, literature, history, politics, ice skating and building things. At the present, he is trying to preserve himself so that he can play with his four grandchildren.
